ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION & CLASS - PROMOTION

(a) LL.B. Semester – 1st:-
A applicant having Bachelor*s Degree in Art, Science, Commerce, Engineering or any other faculty of a recognized university or possesses such academic qualifications which are considered equivalent to a Bachelor*s Degree by the V.K.S.University Ara or any other recognized university.
Applicant obtaining minimum percentage of marks not below 45% of the total marks in case of General category applicants, 42% for OBC category and 40% of the total marks in case of SC and ST applicants, to be obtained for the Qualifying Examination.

(b) LL.B. Semester – 2nd:-
No student shall be promoted to LL.B. 2nd Semester, to attend the class unless the candidate has completed required number of attendance in class of LL.B. 1st Semester and has been sent-up for LL.B. 1st Semester examination of the V.K.S.University Ara.

(c) LL.B. Semester – 3rd:-
No student shall be admitted to LL.B. 3rd Semester unless the candidate has completed required number of attendance in LL.B. 1st & 2nd Semester class and has been sent-up for LL.B. 2nd Semester examination of the V.K.S.University Ara.

(d) LL.B. Semester – 4th:-
No student shall be promoted to LL.B. 4th Semester, to attend the class unless the candidate has completed required number of attendance in LL.B. 3rd Semester class and has been sent-up for LL.B. 3rd Semester examination of the V.K.S.University Ara.

(e) LL.B. Semester – 5th :-
Any student who has been sent-up for the LL.B. 4th Semester examination of the V.K.S.University Ara after having completed required number of attendance in LL.B. 3rd & 4th Semester class shall be eligible for admission to the LL.B. 5th Semester provided he has already passed LL.B. 1st & 2nd Semester examination of the V.K.S.University Ara.

(f) LL.B. Semester – 6th:-
No student shall be promoted to LL.B. 6th Semester, to attend the class unless the candidate has completed required number of attendance in LL.B. 5th Semester class and has been sent-up for LL.B. 5th Semester examination of the V.K.S.University Ara. 

It is pertinent to know you all that students will must have to complete their three year Law Course within six year from their admission in 1st academic session. In the event of a gap of more than three calendar years after taking admission in Regular Course, the student shall be required to take fresh admission in the respective class, irrespective of the fact that he/she has been declared sent up for university examination.   

ELIGIBILITY FOR EXAMINATION
Every student shall be required to attend at least (Minimum) 75% of the total number of Lecturers delivered in each subject including Moot Courts and Tutorials. However, Lecturers below 75% and attended up to 60% may be allowed as per General Provisions of the V.K.S.University, Ara regulation for eligibility to appear at University Examination.

(a) Promoted Examinee :-
The promoted examinees of LL.B. Semester 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th will fill-up examination form with exam. fee of their respective papers along with next Semester examination form and fee, but the promoted examinee of LL.B. 5th Semester fill examination form with fee only for LL.B.5th Semester examination of the V.K.S.University, Ara.

(b) LL.B. Semester – 6th:-
The students who have passed LL.B. Semester 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th and completed attendance in LL.B.6th Semester will fill-up examination form for the V.K.S.University, Ara.

EXAMINATION

There shall be a University Examination in specified papers of every semester in LL.B. one to sixth semester. Each paper shall carry hundred marks divided into two parts i.e. 80 marks for University Examination of theory papers and 20 marks for Internal Assessments.

The Internal Assessments shall comprise of performance in Tutorials, Moot-Court Exercises and Internship-diary, Internal-Exam., Project-Work, Seminars and Legal Awareness Programs/Camps and Attendance in Class-Rooms etc as per the requirements individual papers. Related Papers and Documents must be submitted to the office in time. The duration of the university examination shall be of three hours.  Provided that the examination in practical training shall be conducted in groups as directed by the bar council of india rules and examination schedule fixed by V.K.S.U. Ara.

In order to pass and to be placed in 2nd class an examinee must obtain a minimum of 33% marks in each theory paper excluding internal assessment and at least 45% marks in the aggregates of all the papers taken together including the marks obtained in internal assessment. In order to pass and to be placed in 1st class an examinee must obtain minimum 33% marks in each theory paper excluding internal assessment and at least 60% marks in the aggregates of the papers taken together including the marks obtained in internal assessment.

The degree shall be awarded on the basis of total aggregate marks obtained in all the six semesters University Examination i.e. First, Second, third, Fourth, Fifth and Six semester examination taken together conducted by the V.K.S.U.Ara. Provided further that an examinee who has passed in the aggregate but has failed in one or more papers in LL.B. 1st , 2nd , 3rd , 4th & 5th Semester examinations may be permitted to appear at the immediate two subsequent examinations in the subject in which the examinee has failed.
